Get to Know Us
Congress chartered and incorporated the American Legion in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness with a mission to mentor youth, sponsor wholesome programs, advocate patriotism and honor, promote strong national security and continue devotion to service members and veterans.
The American Legion Paschall Post 164 was named in honor of Harold Charles Paschall, the first soldier from Grove City, Ohio, to die during World War I. Inaugural office holders include: Orin Breckenridge, Commander; William DeVault, Adjutant & Treasurer; Earl Beavers, Service Officer; Otto Riebel, Employment Officer; John McClelland, Chaplain; Ray Henry, Historian; George Seeds, Athletic Officer and Clyde Breckeridge, Sergeant-at-Arms.
